Minerva Learning Trust

Post 16

Stocksbridge High School and Chapeltown Academy are part of Minerva Learning Trust and, as such, we work together on a shared set of educational values and principles. Minerva Learning Trust is working with Stocksbridge Town Deal Board to consider introducing new post-16 (6th form / years 12 and 13) provision at Stocksbridge High School. Through our plans, Chapeltown Academy would create a satellite hub located at Stocksbridge High School to deliver a range of A level or equivalent courses, with a focus on engineering and technology subjects.

Our partnership is in a good position to build local education routes through secondary school into post-16 and beyond, at the same time respecting our local heritage and growing ambition for exciting careers in modern engineering and technology where there is huge demand for new talent.

The new facility would be part of the existing Stocksbridge High School estate, creating the opportunity for students to access further education within their own community as well as attracting a wider group of students to this part of the city.

To help Minerva and the Town Deal Board shape these proposals we would love to hear your views. We would be grateful if you could complete this short survey:

The survey is open to all families with secondary and primary school-aged children. We are hoping for a large response to the survey so that we can plan a provision that provides opportunity and ambition for our whole community and beyond. The survey closes on Monday 10 January 2022.

Stocksbridge High School students will have a series of assemblies on this in the new year and an opportunity to complete a separate survey.
