Covid-19

From Friday 1 April 2022, access to free Covid-19 testing was removed for most people. This means that we are no longer able to provide students with lateral flow device kits. I am grateful for your understanding and support in this issue. If you suspect your child has Covid symptoms, then the revised guidance from the Department for Education is as follows:

• Children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school, college or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend

• For children and young people aged 18 or under, that can access testing and have a positive result, the advice is that they should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days.

In both cases please do contact the school through the usual attendance channels so we can code the absence appropriately. 0114 2883153, option 1

Schools are also no longer required to specifically set work for students who are absent from school with Covid. If your child is absent they should catch up with missed work in the normal way or as directed by their class teacher.
