Mr B Gilder

Headteacher

Mr Gilder has been teaching for over 20 years across a variety of schools in South and West Yorkshire. After graduating from Sheffield University in Biomedical Science, he fell in love with the countryside of South Yorkshire and moved to our very own Stocksbridge. As a Science teacher he was recognised for his leadership by becoming a Specialist Leader in Education for his subject, before becoming a Senior Leader in a Barnsley school for raising achievement. With a track record of improving outcomes every year for the schools he has helped to lead, he quickly progressed further and is very excited to now return to Stocksbridge to work with the community he knows well, and the young people and their families. Mr Gilder has recently completed his NPQH qualification for Headship.

Mrs H Storr

Deputy Headteacher

Mrs Storr has been an English teacher for the last 20 years and hasworked in a several schools in Barnsley and Sheffield over the course of her career. She hasheld a range of senior leadership positions, including Assistant Headteacher and SENCO. She have a wealth of experience in teaching and learning and is particularly interested in using the science of learning to ensure that our students are enabled to achieve excellent outcomes. Mrs Storr says that she is 'very grateful to the staff and students for the warm welcome that they have given me during the first weeks of this term and have been impressed by the calm and purposeful learning environment, I very much looking forward to working with the staff, students, parents and carers over the coming months and years'.

Ms J Martin

Assistant Headteacher

Ms Martin started her teaching career in September 2008 as a maths teacher at Ridgewood School in Doncaster before moving on to Armthorpe Academy in September 2009. She is very passionate about maths and has experience of teaching at GCSE and A-level. She is equally as passionate about making sure that all students have the very best opportunities to succeed both in school and in life.

Mr N Mallaband

Assistant Headteacher

Mr Mallaband started his teaching career at High Storrs in 2012 as a PE Teacher and never looked back. Sport has always been his greatest passion and being able to teach and inspire students through physical activity has really motivated him to progress in my career. Throughout his teaching career he have always been drawn to pastoral care and has been a successful pastoral leader for the last five years. Having this knowledge and experience has allowed him to support students in the best possible way. As Assistant Headteacher at Stocksbridge High School he is excited to work towards creating a culture of exceptional behaviour and positive attitudes where all students feel valued and supported. This is an exciting journey for all.

Mrs C Jackson

Assistant Headteacher

Mrs Jackson has been teaching at Stocksbridge High School for 31 years, starting her teaching career after moving from Liverpool and graduating with a BSc. (Hons) Engineering Physics degree at Hallam University; finally settling in the rolling hills and countryside of Sheffield.

She started her career as a maths teacher, with a love of numbers and problem solving, this swiftly progressed into middle leadership roles including Work Experience Coordinator and Careers Lead. This type of role included building positive relationships to ensure students make positive choices into Post-16 Learning.

Mrs Jackson is now Subject Leader of Health & Social Care (taught at KS4) which is a huge passion of hers, and recently moved back onto the Senior Leadership wanting to make a difference to the personal development and engagement of every single student, making their lives and school experience much more enriched.
