STEM like us

Before the half term holiday a group of Y9 students took part in a STEM masterclass. Here they worked as forensic scientists to help solve a thrilling case. They analysed blood types and DNA fingerprints to uncover clues, all while learning about critical thinking and problem-solving in real-world scenarios.

The students were very engaged and enjoyed the session, as did Mrs Burgess who was supporting the session. Thinker in Education who lead the session was hugely impressed with how our students conducted themselves, their level of engagement and ability and how they organised themselves into groups and managed the tasks. He also pointed out that in most schools this is done by having one super team but every one of our teams performed highly. Well done Year 9!
